As an able-bodied woman, it can be hard to image life in a wheelchair. But for Rose, a 47-year-old woman who sustained a spinal cord injury at the age of 24, this is everyday life. While vacationing with some friends, Rose's vehicle crashed and she broke her neck, resulting in a quadriplegic injury and nearly full-body paralysis.
Conducting a past life regression with Rose (her name has been changed and she has given permission to use the following information), was nothing short of awe-inspiring.
After guiding Rose into the theta state (in trance), she was taken to a past life as a man whose tongue was cut off by his father at the young age of 5. When asked why such a violent crime was committed, Rose said that she was just being a kid and testing limits with her father who was overly strict.
Following the loss of his tongue, the boy ran away from home and lived a life of solitude with no friends, no family and no community. Rose described this life as living "on the other side of the wall" from the people of the village. The boy grew to be a man and taught knights how to fight battle even though he could not communicate with words, found a way to survive on his own, and ultimately died alone without ever finding his people/ tribe.
After exploring this life, I asked to speak to Rose's subconscious/ Higher Self and inquired about how this life relates to the life she's living now.
"She feels like she can't speak," said Rose's Higher Self. "She's afraid to speak her truth and has fear of retribution from anybody. She knows what it feels like to be lonely and not to have people. But she also learned to be a teacher."
I then asked how Rose can best move forward with the life she's living now.
"Don't be afraid to speak her truth," they said. "But this is why she's afraid. She's afraid someone will take her voice again. She needs to learn, practice and trust that her voice won't be taken away. It's a different lifetime, her voice won't be taken away now. She doesn't feel that though. She needs to speak up to herself. She needs to be real with herself. There are lots of people she needs to be real with. They don't need to be named, but it's lots of people that she talks to through her work and home life. She's afraid to say the wrong thing. But it's everywhere. It's family and friends."
I asked her Higher Self to share some words of wisdom on how she can move forward with speaking her truth.
"She just has to start trying with one person," they said. "Find a person that you know you can really trust and be honest with. Start there. It'll be a learning lesson. It's harder for her at work. She needs to learn some lessons before taking it into that environment. There's some very weak and emotionally unstable people that she works with. She should leave there, it's not good."
If she is supposed to leave her job, what kind of career should Rose pursue? "She can help scientists and people with spinal cord injuries, with research," her Higher Self said.
Rose's Higher Self also addressed the karmic ties she has to some form of disability in most of her past lives.
"Rose has always had something happen," they said. "That was her first disability, the tongue. She's always had some kind of disability. This current one is serious, but not. Throughout all the lives, she can always show people that it doesn't have to be horrible, so it makes her a good teacher. Even without a tongue, she can still teach. She's always persevering through hardships. She's never a victim, always persevering. There's a lot of strength in that. It shows people how to persevere."
When asked if there's any chance for future physical healing, they said: "There will not be any return of function to her body, it's been too long. She shouldn't try to regain function through science or another way. She should just keep going on."
In the questions she had prepared prior to our QHHT session, Rose asked why she has trouble sleeping at night.
"If she was more honest with herself, she wouldn't have so many thoughts going on in her head," said her Higher Self. "She thinks about all these stresses all the time, but she doesn't share them with anyone or talk about anything so it's no wonder she has problems falling asleep at night." At that point, I said, "So she keeps it all in and doesn't share it with anyone. Almost like she doesn't have a tongue." Her Higher Self agreed with my statement.
The lonely life she lived as the man without a tongue has karmically stayed with her.
"She has a lot of fears because of everything's she's seen in her past lives," said Rose's Higher Self. "She's always been different. Her disabilities always made her different than everybody else, which made her the great teacher because she was able to deal with it. But she's always felt like an outsider. Even in this life she does. She has to know this is a different life. It's part of the pattern of breaking the history of the disability. There are lessons to be learned. She needs to be open and stay to her own truth. She needs to be honest to herself, therefore being honest to others, and then being able to be open and sharing about her feelings. It will break the pattern."
At this point, I asked her Higher Self to discuss some of the other disabilities she's experienced in past lives.
"There's just so many," Rose's Higher Self said. "I wanted to show the first time, that had a lot of meaning to everything that follows. The first time was the tongue. Because of that, that life, it continued on. Every life got a little bit better, but there was leprosy, disfigurements, early deaths, but every time it got better. That first time, it was very alone and segregated. She still feels like that person even though she's not that anymore."
Knowing that Rose has participated in the Paralympics and is a mom to a young son (yes, she carried and birthed him), it's clear to see that she has accomplished so much in this lifetime. I mentioned that Rose has been breaking barriers for decades since her spinal cord injury.
"But it's meaningless to her because she doesn't break her own barriers," replied her Higher Self. "She has so many of her own barriers. Those are just normal things that she's always done. It was in that first life where she couldn't speak, she had no one to speak to, she was very, very alone. After that, she never got used to talking to people or learned how to talk to people. She can communicate now, but doesn't do it quite the right way or isn't speaking the truth. She just wants to make everyone else happy which has always been the way from that first day when she was 5-years-old. She learned her lesson and it's always been the same."
Rose's Higher Self acknowledges the challenges she faces in this lifetime.
"It's not an easy life, it's a difficult life," they shared. "There's a lot of pain and sometimes she just needs to be honest about that. But she lies to herself, it's not even about lying to other people. She's always saying 'I'm ok, I'm ok.' But sometimes she's not ok. Sometimes it's ok to not be ok. She already knows all of this but she doesn't hear it in herself. She has to go all these different things to learn, and they tell her all the same things, it's just a pattern."
I asked if there's any tips or advice on dealing with negative people, the victims and complainers that seem to be surrounding her.
"There is a nice way you can do it," they said. "You need to acknowledge what they are feeling and ask if there's anything that they want to do about it. If they say no they don't want to do anything about it, then you say, then there must be something good about the situation since you're not willing to change it."
When asked about Rose's life purpose, they said, "She's a teacher. Right now, this is what her teaching ability is: to teach about spinal cord injury. It doesn't necessarily have to be the person with an SCI, but help and develop these programs to help people live their best lives."
In closing, Rose's Higher Self had some last words of wisdom as she carries forward with this lifetime.
"She definitely has to stop being so hard of herself," said her Higher Self. "She can feel insecure. She knows everything that there is to know. She doesn't trust herself. The biggest thing that she has to know is that it's all within her... Let go of the fear of everything. She's afraid of failing, or people leaving, or being alone, or saying the wrong thing. So many fears. Once she starts chipping away at that, she can be honest about these fears, and start communicating properly with people, then she'll have a better connection to me (her Higher Self)."
Will Rose be able to live her dream life in this lifetime?
"She can break some of these patterns with her communication issues, such as not being honest with herself and others and make some changes to her career. Then, absolutely, she'll get there!"
